Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience torrential rains and gusty winds from Thursday night through Saturday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will impact upper and central parts of Pakistan, along with a westerly wave affecting the northern regions.

Anticipated areas for rain include Balakot, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Batagram, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Kark, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Bajaur, and Waziristan during this period. Heavy rainfall may lead to flash floods in local nullahs/streams in Galyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Dir, and Swat from July 5th to 7th. Urban flooding is also a concern for Peshawar, and landslides could affect hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, disrupting traffic.

In Peshawar, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 38-40°C on Friday and 37-39°C on Saturday. Recent scattered rain-wind/thundershowers affected upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the past 24 hours, while hot and humid conditions prevailed elsewhere in the province.
