Karachi weather update: Rain to continue for 5 days under new monsoon system

Scattered rains and gusty winds are forecasted in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday night and for the following two days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea will penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan and are expected to strengthen from Wednesday. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave is anticipated to approach the upper parts of the country on Wednesday.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Balakot, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Swat, Shangla, Batgram, Haripur, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat, Karak, and Waziristan on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday and Thursday, most districts in the province will experience mainly hot and humid weather. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated locations in Balakot, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Swat, Shangla, Batgram, Haripur, Swabi, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Karak, Khyber, Bajaur, and Kurram.

Peshawar’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 39-41°C on Wednesday and 38-40°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, scattered rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 24 hours, while hot and humid weather prevailed in other parts of the province.

Rainfall (mm): Balakot 35, Saidu Sharif 27, Malam Jabba 26, Kakul 02, Dir (Lower & Upper 01)

Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Relative humidity in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan was recorded at 35 per cent and 43 per cent, respectively.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 42 per cent.
