People in Pakistan recently observed two public holidays in July for Muharram 9 and 10, honoring Hazrat Imam Husain and his companions’ sacrifices in Karbala.

The federal government issued the public and optional holidays schedule in December 2023. The notification includes details of holidays for both Muslim and minority festivals.

Public holidays are announced to mark significant occasions throughout the year. According to the official notification for the 2024 calendar year, there are no more public holidays in July 2024 in Pakistan.

Upcoming Public Holiday in Pakistan

The next public holiday in Pakistan will be in August 2024. The government will declare a public holiday on August 14 for Independence Day.

This day commemorates Pakistan’s independence and its declaration as a sovereign state following the end of British rule in August 1947.
