More monsoon rains and gusty winds are forecasted for Lahore and various parts of Punjab on Wednesday night and continuing into the following two days, with occasional breaks.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are moving into the upper and central regions of Pakistan at lower tropospheric levels, while a westerly wave affects the upper parts.

As a result, monsoon rains and gusty winds are anticipated in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Dera Ghazi Khan, Noorpur Thal, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari, Khanewal, Multan, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday night.

On Thursday and Friday, most districts in the province will experience mainly hot and humid weather. However, additional monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, and Sheikhupura.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Thursday and 37-39°C on Friday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in eastern/central Punjab.

Rainfall (mm): Bahawalnagar 40, Sheikhupura 16, Okara 10, Noorpurthal 05, Faisalabad 04

Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Maximum temperature in Multan was recorded at 41°C.
