‘Sindh to distribute 200,000 solar systems by July 2025’

People in Punjab are looking to get their hands on Solar Scheme and now Bank of Punjab BOP has started taking applications for the initiative taken by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The provincial government announced to distribute free solar panels starting August 14. Under this scheme, people using up to 200 units of electricity per month will receive free solar panels.

For those using between 200 and 500 units monthly, solar panels will be available at only 10percent of the cost, with the remaining 90pc subsidized by the government. For this scheme, payments will be interest-free and will be made in 5 years.

Who can apply for Punjab Roshan Gharana

Must be a resident of Punjab

Must own property or have permission from property owner to install solar panels

Punjab Roshan Gharana Scheme

The free solar panel scheme aims to reduce electricity bills by 40pc, as Chief Minister focused to easing public financial burdens during challenging times.

Punjab government also previously allocated special funds in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget to promote and implement solar systems, including a proposed Chief Minister’s Roshan Gharana Programme costing Rs9.5 billion.
