Karachi to experience drop in temperatures over next three days

Monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday night, Wednesday, and Thursday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea will penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen from Wednesday. A shallow westerly wave is also expected to approach the upper parts of the country on Wednesday.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are forecasted for Murree, Gallyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Narowal, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, and Noor Pur Thal on Tuesday night and the following two days. Gusty/dust-raising winds are expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Khanewal during this period.

Lahore’s maximum temperature is predicted to range between 36-38°C on Wednesday and 37-39°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, scattered rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in upper Punjab over the past 24 hours, while hot and humid weather prevailed in other parts of the province.

Bhakkar remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. Maximum temperature in Sargodha was recorded at 45°C, and Bahawalpur at 44°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 52 per cent.
