Weather update; Isolated rainfall expected in Islamabad, Pakistan

More rain, wind, and thunderstorms are forecasted for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night and the following two days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper and central parts of Pakistan, with a shallow westerly wave affecting the upper regions of the country.

Under these conditions, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Waziristan, and Kurram on Wednesday night and the next two days. Isolated heavy rainfall is also predicted during this period.

Peshawar’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 34-36°C on Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy falls were recorded in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours, while hot and humid weather prevailed in other areas of the province.

Bannu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Maximum temperature in Dera Ismail Khan was recorded at 41°C.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 52 percent.
