JEDDAH : The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an extraordinary, open-ended Executive Committee meeting at the Foreign Ministers’ level on August 7 to address Israel’s actions and war crimes in Palestine. The agenda includes discussing the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, including the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh and aggressions against Iran’s sovereignty.

The meeting will take place at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah.

A press statement from the OIC Secretariat on Monday highlighted that the meeting was convened in response to the continued atrocities by the Israeli occupation in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip. The statement detailed that these actions have resulted in over 40,000 deaths and more than 91,000 injuries among Palestinian citizens, predominantly women and children.

Additionally, civilian properties, including 430,000 homes, as well as infrastructure, health and educational facilities, places of worship, and historical sites, have been destroyed, displacing nearly two million Palestinians.

On Saturday, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed Pakistan’s full support for Iran’s call for an “extraordinary meeting” of the OIC following the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in a strike in Tehran.
