Solar panel prices in Pakistan have reached an unprecedented low of Rs30-32 per Watt, marking the most significant decline in the industry’s history.

This sharp drop is mainly due to an oversupply in the domestic market and a global reduction in lithium battery prices, which has also contributed to lower international solar panel costs.

Over the past year, international lithium battery prices have fallen by nearly 50%, significantly impacting solar panel prices in Pakistan and pushing them down considerably.

However, dry battery prices have remained relatively stable, as importers have been reluctant to pass on these cost reductions to local consumers.

Since 2023, Pakistan’s solar energy sector has been growing due to increased imports from China, rising electricity bills, and the low cost of solar panels, which have boosted demand for net metering systems across the country.
