IHC permits SZABMU to issue MDCAT 2024 results for Islamabad, AJK
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has permitted Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University to announce the results of the MDCAT exam 2024.
During a hearing regarding petitions that sought to cancel the medical admission test due to questions outside the syllabus, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued the order. The previous day, the court had prohibited the university from declaring the results.
In today’s session, officials including the Registrar of the PMDC and the university registrar appeared before the court. The PMDC registrar mentioned that a committee has been established, chaired by Professor Umar, Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Medical College.
The university registrar reported that only six questions were deemed excessively challenging, and grace marks were given to candidates. He confirmed that the results are prepared.
The court was informed that question papers are collected from candidates to ensure transparency, preventing any potential misuse by individuals looking to create study guides.
Subsequently, the court granted conditional approval for the authorities to release the MDCAT 2024 results. The PMDC registrar requested additional time until the following morning to provide detailed information, stating that a meeting with university officials is scheduled for 10:30 am tomorrow.
The IHC judge also instructed students to appoint representatives for the court proceedings and postponed the case until tomorrow, September 27.
