Rains expected in upper parts of Islamabad, Pakistan

More intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and other parts of Punjab on Thursday night and Friday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). A shallow westerly wave is currently affecting the upper regions of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, isolated rain showers are anticipated in northeast Punjab and the Pothohar region on Thursday night. For Friday, hot and dry weather is expected across most districts of the province. However, there will be further rains in Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Sahiwal, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Nankana Sahib.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 33-35°C on Friday and Saturday. Over the last 24 hours, dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab, although there were rain showers in Lahore and isolated areas in northeast Punjab.

Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Jhelum remained the hottest places in Punjab where the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 81 percent.
