The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reported that the attack on Chinese nationals near Karachi involved 70 to 80 kilograms of explosives and resulted in at least three fatalities.

According to the report, the blast was caused by a device placed in a vehicle. The explosion not only killed three individuals but also injured 17 others and damaged 15 additional vehicles.

All evidence collected from the scene has been turned over to the relevant police station. Previously, a suicide bomber targeted the Chinese convoy late on Sunday, leading to the casualties and injuries mentioned.

Initial investigations suggest the suicide bomber waited near Jinnah Airport for the convoy to approach before launching the attack.

Investigators noted that the bomber drove the explosive-laden vehicle directly into the foreign nationals’ car, causing significant destruction and damage to several nearby vehicles.

Rescue teams arrived quickly to the site and successfully retrieved one of the vehicles belonging to the foreigners.

Authorities are currently working to identify the vehicle’s license plate and engine chassis number to aid in the investigation, and they are also gathering details about the damaged cars.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah convened an emergency meeting to address the law and order situation in Karachi following the explosion near the airport.

The meeting included key officials such as the Interior Minister, IG Sindh, DG Rangers, and the Karachi Commissioner.
