CAA yet to start technical evaluation of Turkish bid for Islamabad airport privatization: Danish Janjua
KARACHI: Danish Janjua, member of the consortium, has said that Turks are trying to propagate that their bid for Islamabad airport privatization has already been approved by the CAA, whereas in fact, the CAA has just admitted the Turkish bid and has not even started its technical evaluation.
Janjua further said that the process would take a couple of weeks, and then financial bids of technically qualified bidders would be opened.
“In meantime, we are hoping that better sense prevails and the CAA will admit our bid, especially after we have filed our grievance petition,” he said.
“Giving away the govt’s first privatization to a single bid situation with such controversy makes no sense! It will cause financial damage to the national exchequer and further cause irreparable harm to Pakistan future privatizations,” Janjua feared.
