After a day-long ‘disappearance,’ Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reappeared in the provincial assembly.

Upon his unexpected return, the assembly members warmly received CM Gandapur. In his address, he expressed pride in representing his province and praised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protestors for their steadfast support of the party. He stated, “I salute the people of Pakistan who stand beside the party founder.”

Earlier, the KP Assembly Speaker had issued production orders for Gandapur and other Provincial Assembly members. The Speaker sought the Advocate General’s advice on the issuance of these orders in accordance with Article 165A of the Constitution.

The Advocate General clarified that assembly members from Sindh had been detained by the Punjab government, and the Lahore High Court’s ruling mandated that production orders apply universally.

He further explained that the law empowers the Speaker to issue production orders under Section 165A, thereby legitimizing the process for all detained assembly members.
