Govt decides to observe ‘Palestine Solidarity Day’ on Oct 7

ISLAMABAD: The federal government and other political parties have decided to observe ‘Palestine Solidarity Day’ on Oct 7.

It was also decided to hold a All Party Conference (APC), to be hosted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on October 7. President Asif Ali Zardari and the prime minister would address the APC.

The understanding reached in a meeting between the prime minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and JI Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, who called the PM and urged him to observe the Palestine Solidarity Day at the national level.

They agreed to raise voice for the right of the Palestinian brothers and against the atrocities being committed against them at every international forum.

They also decided to constitute a committee for the arrangements of All Parties Conference and Palestinian Solidarity Day. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Sherry Rehman, Khawaja Saad Rafiq and Nayyer Bukhari will be members of the committee.

The participants of the meeting agreed to hold rallies and seminars in the whole month of October across the country on Oct 7. They also appreciated the role of the JI for its solidarity with Palestine brothers.
