The district administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have announced that all educational institutions in both cities will remain closed tomorrow (Monday) due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest.

The notification issued by the Islamabad administration cited the prevailing situation as the reason for the closure, applying the directive to all educational institutions in the federal capital.

The decision comes as PTI prepares to stage a “do-or-die” protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk against the “unlawful” detention of party founder, along with other leaders and workers.

The protest also aims to challenge the alleged “stolen mandate” in the February 8 general elections and the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed authorities not to permit the protest if it violates the newly enacted peaceful assembly law.

Meanwhile, internet disruptions have been reported in Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, and other cities, though Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi clarified that mobile services remain operational while internet services have been suspended.
