Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, met with Australian Army Chief Lieutenant General Simon Stuart today at the General Headquarters (GHQ).

The meeting focused on shared interests, particularly the evolving global and regional security landscape.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two military leaders discussed key strategic issues, highlighting the importance of strengthening defence and security ties between Pakistan and Australia.

Lieutenant General Stuart acknowledged Pakistan’s significant efforts in counter-terrorism and its contributions to regional peace.

General Asim Munir emphasized the importance of strong cooperation between the two nations, noting Pakistan’s ongoing role in combating terrorism both locally and globally.

The discussions also covered broader regional security concerns, with both generals expressing commitment to further enhancing defence and security collaboration for regional and global stability.

They agreed on the need for continued cooperation to address mutual challenges. Lieutenant General Stuart was warmly welcomed by senior Pakistani military officials upon his arrival at GHQ.

He was honored with a guard of honor and later visited the martyrs’ memorial, where he laid a floral wreath to pay tribute to Pakistan’s fallen soldiers.
