CJCSC visits IDEAS-24, holds wide-ranging talks with foreign officials

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), visited the 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS-24) on Thursday and held extensive discussions on the sidelines of the event.

He met with defense ministers, armed forces commanders, and key officials from several countries, including Turkiye, Azerbaijan, South Africa, Argentina, Malaysia, UAE, Cambodia, Eswatini, Gambia, Brunei, Maldives, and Malawi, according to the ISPR.

During these meetings, they discussed various aspects of defense and security cooperation, with a focus on defense production and strengthening bilateral ties. The foreign dignitaries showed great interest in enhancing collaboration with Pakistan’s defense sector.

At the seminar, General Mirza delivered a keynote speech on “Pakistan’s Defence Production and Potential: Challenges and Way Forward.” He highlighted that Pakistan’s defense industry plays a crucial role in equipping the country’s armed forces and uses innovative, cost-effective solutions to meet national defense needs while exploring opportunities in international markets.

He emphasized that IDEAS serves as a valuable platform for showcasing Pakistan’s advanced defense industry to the global audience.

The CJCSC also visited the Pakistan Pavilion and praised the Tri-Services for displaying high-quality, locally manufactured defense equipment that meets global standards. He commended the Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) for organizing the event and thanked international companies for their participation.

IDEAS-24 was held at Expo Center Karachi from November 19 to 22, 2024, under the management of DEPO.
