No possibility of PTI founder’s release despite bail in Toshakhana case: Tarar
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Ataullah Tarar has said that the PTI founder is unlikely to be released from prison despite obtaining bail in the Toshakhana case.
Speaking to a private TV channel on Wednesday, Tarar emphasized, “There is no possibility of the PTI founder’s release.”
He explained that the trial court is currently hearing the state gifts case against the PTI founder, and substantial evidence has been presented in this matter. Additionally, Tarar noted that the PTI founder has not received bail in eight cases connected to the violent protests on May 9.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted bail to Pakistan Tehreak e Insaf (PTI) founder in Toshakhana case-II.
Islamabad High Court Judge Miangul Hassan has granted bail to former prime minister in the Tosha Khana case-II. The court has given bail to founder PTI on a bond of one million each.
The court said that it is a case of proof of overcharging of the seat, the case of duress is yet to be proved. It should be noted that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case-II on July 13, 2024.
