The Islamabad Accountability Court conducted a hearing regarding the £190 million reference but was unable to issue a verdict against the PTI founder and his wife. The court postponed the announcement, rescheduling the verdict for January 6.

Court staff informed the defense lawyers of the new date after the decision, initially reserved on December 18, was delayed. Judge Nasir Javed Rana had previously announced that the verdict would be delivered today, but it was deferred instead.

The court notified PTI lawyers that the decision would not be announced today. The Accountability Court in G-11 is expected to set a fresh date for the hearing.

During the session, lawyer Khalid Chaudhry informed Judge Nasir Javed Rana that they anticipated the verdict. However, the judge explained that the decision could not be delivered as the High Court proceedings were ongoing, and the judgment was still under preparation. He asked the lawyers to verify the new date within 10 minutes.

The court had reserved its decision on December 18 after concluding arguments in the £190 million reference against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. Initially, the verdict was set to be delivered at Adiala Jail on Monday.

The trial spanned one year, during which the NAB recorded testimonies from 35 witnesses. The PTI founder’s legal team cross-examined the witnesses before the court reserved its decision.
