Fatal bus crash on Dera Ismail Khan Motorway leaves 10 dead, 7 injured

A speeding bus met with an accident near Fateh Jang on the motorway in Punjab’s Attock district, resulting in the tragic deaths of 10 people and injuries to 7 others.

According to Motorway Police, the accident occurred on the Dera Ismail Khan Motorway (M-14) near Fateh Jang due to the driver’s negligence, causing the bus to overturn. The ill-fated bus was traveling from Bahawalpur to Islamabad.

The Motorway Police stated that the accident, caused by the driver’s carelessness, led to the loss of 10 lives, while 7 injured individuals were shifted to the hospital.

A large contingent of Motorway Police immediately arrived at the scene upon receiving the report of the accident and transferred all the bodies and injured individuals to THQ Fateh Jang.

Earlier, in Naushahro Feroze, a collision between a trailer and a van claimed the lives of eight individuals, including two women, and left over ten others injured.

According to police sources, the bodies and injured were shifted to a local hospital, while eight critically injured individuals were transferred to Nawabshah.

Sources revealed that all the deceased and injured belonged to the Tagar community of Naushahro Feroze. More than ten injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at People’s Medical Hospital in Nawabshah.

Police stated that the van involved in the accident was returning to Naushahro Feroze from a wedding ceremony. The tragic incident occurred due to dense fog.

The deceased have been identified as Ali Muhammad, Zaheer, Mola Bux, Faisal, Fiza, Sharifan, and Jalal Tagar.
