Cloudy skies and winter rains have brought a chilly change to cities across Pakistan, with Lahore experiencing its first winter rain.

Early morning showers and cold winds have intensified the cold in areas like Garhi Shahu, Mall Road, Model Town, and Gulberg.

Light rain is expected to continue throughout the day in Lahore and nearby regions, including Kasur, Kahna, Pakpattan, and Renala Khurd.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast severe cold in mountainous areas, with light rain and snow expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and northeastern Punjab. Meanwhile, foggy conditions will persist in the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning and night.

Temperatures have dropped significantly in hilly regions, with Leh recording a bone-chilling -13°C, Skardu at -11°C, and Gilgit and Dir at -8°C. Other areas, including Quetta and Ziarat, reported temperatures as low as -5°C.
