Pakistan, Iran agree to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas

Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in all areas.

According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Mashhad, Iran, between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, as well as the latest regional and global developments.

The spokesperson further stated that both countries also agreed to enhance cooperation in all sectors further.

Senator Dar, who arrived in the city on Monday to attend the ECO meeting, emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the ECO Charter.

He underscored the importance of fostering greater connectivity within the ECO region by developing road and rail networks, liberalizing visa regimes, and simplifying border procedures. He also highlighted the potential for sustainable economic growth and enhanced geo-economic cooperation across the region.
