ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, announced that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Europe have been restored, attributing the achievement to the efforts of the incumbent government.

Speaking on Monday, Tarar highlighted this development as a key accomplishment while responding to points raised by opposition leader Omar Ayub. He criticized the previous PTI government, stating that the suspension of PIA’s flight operations to several European destinations was a direct result of irresponsible statements made by the then Aviation Minister, Ghulam Sarwar Khan.

“Under the incumbent government, these flights have been resumed, correcting the mistakes made during the previous government.” Tarar said.

Addressing concerns regarding the situation in Kurram, Tarar advised opposition leader Omar Ayub to contact the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, for detailed information, noting that law and order fall under provincial jurisdiction. However, he added that the federal government stands ready to assist where necessary.

Tarar also criticized the PTI leadership for their lack of focus during the Kurram crisis, “When there were dead bodies in Kurram, the Chief Minister was marching towards Islamabad rather than addressing the issues on the ground.”

The minister accused PTI leaders of spreading false narratives, stating, “They do not have the correct number of casualties; they are only spreading lies. Their 10 leaders are sharing 10 different figures.”

He concluded by urging a more responsible approach to such matters, emphasizing the importance of accuracy and accountability.
