Several trains in Pakistan have faced significant delays due to dense fog and adverse weather conditions.

Trains arriving and departing from Karachi have been delayed by over 12 hours. The Rehman Baba Express, traveling from Peshawar, is running three hours late, while the Awam Express has been delayed by two hours. The Karakorum Express from Lahore is six hours behind schedule, and the Business Express is expected to arrive five hours late. Similarly, the Green Line from Rawalpindi is facing a two-hour delay.

Other affected trains include the Millat Express, traveling from Faisalabad to Lala Musa, delayed by four hours, and the Zakariya Express from Multan, which is running 6.5 hours late upon its arrival in Karachi. Additionally, the Sir Syed Express, operated by the private sector, is delayed by two hours.

In related news, dense fog has also disrupted flight operations at Lahore airport.

In December 2024, Pakistan Railways (PR) celebrated its second consecutive year of success, recording a 15% increase in revenue. PR’s CEO Amir Ali Baloch reported that both train operations and revenue have grown, while operational expenses have been reduced.
