The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced a new policy for private Hajj schemes, making security clearance mandatory for individuals choosing packages over Rs3 million.

The aim is to ensure transparency and prevent fund misuse during this important religious journey.

Pilgrims opting for expensive private Hajj packages will have their names sent to the FBR for a review of their assets and tax history.

Security agencies will also check their criminal records or any other relevant history.

Only after receiving clearance can these pilgrims proceed with their Hajj plans.

Additionally, Hajj companies offering packages above Rs3 million must submit detailed package information for ministry approval. This ensures the pricing and expenses comply with regulations.

To oversee the policy, Muhammad Hakeem Khattak has been appointed as the focal person.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has allowed private Hajj tour operators to start bookings, which will remain open until January 31.

For Hajj packages costing more than Rs3 million, approval from the Hajj Formulation Committee is mandatory. This step is part of a new policy designed to streamline the Hajj process, ensure transparency, and meet the increasing demand for private Hajj services.
