ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), operating under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday to enhance cooperation in resolving complaints and challenges faced by overseas Pakistanis.

The signing ceremony, held at NAB headquarters, marked the establishment of a structured mechanism for strategic coordination between the two institutions.

The collaboration aims to tackle issues such as property disputes, financial fraud, misuse of authority, and other matters requiring NAB’s intervention.

Under the agreement, NAB and OPF will work together to address grievances, including fraudulent practices in housing schemes, property possession disputes, allotment issues, and financial mismanagement by housing developers or private entities.

A dedicated facilitation desk for overseas Pakistanis will be set up at all NAB offices, including the Head Office and Regional Offices, to process complaints referred by OPF or lodged directly by overseas Pakistanis. Additionally, a helpline will be introduced to ensure continuous communication between NAB and OPF for prompt complaint resolution.

He also assured that legal action would be taken against those involved in fraudulent activities targeting overseas Pakistanis.

The MoU was formally signed by Mrs. Laeeqa Ambreen, OPF’s Director General (Welfare & Services Division), and Izhar Ahmed Awan, NAB’s Director General (A&P).
