Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that as Pakistan progresses towards economic growth, challenges will intensify and need to be managed effectively.

Highlighting Karachi’s pivotal role as the nation’s commercial, financial, and export hub, the PM praised its resurgence as a center of economic activity. “Karachi’s lights, once dimmed, now shine brightly again,” he said, reaffirming the city’s importance in Pakistan’s economic revival.

He announced plans to engage with experts, welcoming constructive criticism and diverse perspectives. “Those who believe everything is fine are living in a fool’s paradise,” he asserted.

Addressing the nation’s financial challenges, the PM reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the IMF but expressed a vision of reducing dependency on the organization. “The day will come when we bid farewell to the IMF,” he declared, questioning the contradiction of being a nuclear power while reliant on foreign aid.
