The Punjab government has introduced a new speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour for motorcycles across the province to curb road accidents caused by speeding.

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced the decision, expressing concern over the increasing fatalities on the roads. “It is heartbreaking to see lives lost due to speeding,” she stated, highlighting the significance of the regulation for public safety.

She emphasized that strict enforcement measures will be implemented to ensure compliance with the new speed limit. “Motorcycles will not be allowed to exceed 60km/h,” Bukhari confirmed.

Alongside road safety initiatives, the provincial government is also prioritizing environmentally friendly transportation.

Bukhari revealed that the first batch of 28 electric vehicles is expected to arrive in Lahore within the next two to three days, marking a crucial step toward adopting sustainable transportation solutions in Punjab.
