ISLAMABAD: Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Chief Whip of the Senate, warmly received Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, M.D. Iqbal Hussain Khan, at the Senate Secretariat on Thursday.

During the meeting, Senator Mandviwalla emphasized the importance of moving beyond historical differences to strengthen bilateral ties.

High Commissioner Iqbal Hussain Khan expressed Bangladesh’s interest in exploring the Pakistani market, particularly in textiles, cotton, fruits, and tea. However, he noted the absence of direct flights between the two countries as a challenge to trade expansion.

Senator Mandviwalla assured him that Pakistani airlines would consider initiating flights to Bangladesh, possibly on a weekly basis.

He also encouraged engagement with local chambers of commerce in Karachi and Sialkot to enhance economic collaboration.
