Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman expressed concerns on Sunday about the lack of education for over 10 million children in the country.
Speaking in Lahore, he criticized private institutions for charging high fees and emphasized the state’s responsibility to provide quality education for all children.
Rehman addressed the youth, highlighting how education has enabled many to earn livelihoods. He mentioned conversations with young individuals who confirmed they were benefiting from educational programs through knowledge and employment opportunities.
Separately, Rehman reiterated his support for Palestinians, expressing that Israel’s occupation of Palestine is unacceptable and stressing solidarity with the Palestinian cause. He also drew attention to the occupation of Kashmir by India.
On Friday, Rehman criticized the government for complying with the IMF’s demands, particularly regarding its impact on farmers. He called for providing farmers with necessary facilities to protect national food security and pledged to advocate for farmers’ rights.
