The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Eid-Al-Fitr could be observed on March 31, as the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on March 30.

According to PMD expert Anjum Nazir Zaighum, the moon will be born on March 29 at 3:58 pm, while sunset is expected at 6:48 pm. He further explained that the moon would likely be visible for up to 70 minutes after sunset, with its age at that time being 27 hours and 13 minutes.

“For the moon to be visible, it must be at least 19 hours old,” Zaighum stated.

He confirmed that the final decision regarding the moon sighting will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on the 29th of Ramadan. Based on current observations, he noted that there is a strong likelihood of spotting the moon on March 30, making Eid-Al-Fitr likely to fall on March 31.
