Pakistan and Qatar have agreed to strengthen their close ties in trade and investment.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, over the phone.

During the conversation, they decided that a Qatari delegation would visit Pakistan right after Eid-ul-Fitr to continue discussions on investment opportunities.

The prime minister also recalled his visit to Doha last October and thanked the Qatari Emir for hosting a cultural exhibition, which he had the honor of attending. He suggested holding a similar exhibition in Lahore, and the Emir welcomed the idea.

They also discussed regional issues, with Shehbaz Sharif appreciating Qatar’s diplomatic role in peace efforts, especially in Gaza. Before ending the call, the prime minister extended warm Eid greetings to the Emir and the people of Qatar.
