Pakistan Day ceremony takes place with grand military parade at Aiwan-e-Sadr

Islamabad: The Pakistan Day ceremony took place at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, with President Asif Ali Zardari as the chief guest. The event was attended by foreign ambassadors and other prominent personalities.

A grand military parade was held, featuring smartly dressed contingents from all three branches of the armed forces, performing a march-past and saluting the national flag. Army Chief General Asim Munir, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani also attended the ceremony.

President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in a traditional carriage, with his arrival announced by a bugle call. He then shook hands with members of the welcome committee and inspected the parade.

In the Pakistan Day parade, the Pakistan Air Force’s Shaheens showcased an impressive flypast, sending a strong message to adversaries. The Sherdil formation executed a spectacular aerial display, featuring JF-17 Thunder, F-16, J-10C, and Mirage fighter jets in a breathtaking flypast.

Later, President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the participants of the Pakistan Day ceremony, stating that the day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by millions of Muslims, which turned the dream of Pakistan into reality.

He paid tribute to the martyrs, emphasizing that Pakistan gained independence through great sacrifices. He also remarked that India has always viewed Pakistan with hostility.

The President reaffirmed that Pakistan’s foreign policy is based on peace and stability, and the country will continue to raise its voice for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination on every global platform. He highlighted Pakistan’s ability to overcome challenges, stating that despite conspiracies, Pakistan has been built and will continue to progress.

He further stated that no sacrifice will be spared for the protection of the motherland. He emphasized that Pakistan has successfully countered both external and internal terrorism and stressed the need to build a strong and prosperous nation. He urged the youth to reject elements spreading hatred and despair, ensuring a brighter future for the country.
