Eid ul Fitr 2025 is expected to bring a long holiday break for students in Punjab, likely starting from March 29 and lasting until April 6.

According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible on the evening of March 30, which means Eid will most likely be celebrated on March 31. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will officially confirm the sighting on March 30, which falls on the 29th of Ramadan.

The exact number of holidays for students will depend on when the moon is sighted. Usually, the provincial government follows the federal government’s schedule and announces three official holidays for Eid.

If the moon is sighted on March 30, there will be five holidays from March 31 to April 2, including the weekend. However, if the moon is not visible, Ramadan will complete 30 days, and the holidays will start on April 1 and end on April 3.

In this case, since Monday, March 31, will likely be declared a holiday as well, the total break for students could extend to six days.
