The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather update, warning of possible heatwave-like conditions in southern regions, while predicting rainfall in the northern parts of the country from April 8 to 11 due to a new western weather system.

Starting April 8, this system is expected to bring rain to areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram, Buner, Bajaur, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Light to moderate rain is also likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Mianwali, and northeast Punjab during the same period.

Dusty winds may affect plain areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and upper Sindh. Meanwhile, temperatures in central and southern Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan may rise 4 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal.

The Met Office has advised people to stay out of the sun during peak hours and drink more water to stay hydrated. Farmers have also been asked to plan their agricultural activities according to the changing weather conditions.
