Cambridge International Education has postponed the A-Level and O-Level exams scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2025, due to rising tensions between Pakistan and India. The decision affects students in Punjab, Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and other cities, according to an official notification.

The exams were postponed after a detailed security review carried out with the British Council. Cambridge emphasized that the safety of students and staff is their top priority.

Earlier, the Punjab government had also delayed intermediate exams for two days. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that practical exams planned for Friday and Saturday are also postponed, and a new schedule will be announced soon.

All public and private schools and colleges will remain closed on May 9 and 10.
