The Interior Ministry has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army across the country to ensure security during Muharram-ul-Haram. The military will assist civil institutions in maintaining law and order during the holy month.

According to the official letter, the army has been called in to support authorities in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and all four provinces. The respective provincial governments will decide to deploy troops in specific areas based on local needs.

The Ministry of Interior issued the deployment notification under Article 245 of the Constitution, which allows the military to support civilian administration when needed.

Muharram is a sensitive time in Pakistan, and security is always heightened to prevent any untoward incidents. The army’s presence aims to ensure peaceful observance of religious processions and gatherings.

The federal government has taken this step to provide maximum security and maintain peace throughout the country during the upcoming religious events.
