Islamabad: SUPARCO has issued its predictions for the moon sighting marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Muharram 1447 AH.

According to the spokesperson from SUPARCO, the lunar conjunction is expected to occur on June 25, 2025, at 3:32 PM Pakistan Standard Time.

The moon’s age at sunset on June 26, 2025, will be approximately 28 hours and 15 minutes. Additionally, in coastal areas of the country, the interval between sunset and moonset is anticipated to be around 75 minutes, providing favorable conditions for moon sighting.

Based on astronomical calculations, if the weather remains clear on the evening of June 26, 2025, the new moon of Muharram is highly likely to be visible. Consequently, the Islamic month of Muharram 1447 AH is expected to commence on June 27, 2025.
