ISLAMABAD – Chinese expert and geopolitical commentator Prof. Victor Gao has praised Pakistan for its key role in laying the foundation for diplomatic relations between China and the United States, calling it one of the most transformative moments in modern global politics.

Speaking at a webinar hosted by the Asian Institute of Eco-Civilization Research and Development (AIERD), Prof. Gao described Pakistan’s mediation between the two superpowers as an extraordinary act of diplomacy. “Pakistan brought together two completely different countries, paving the way for peace, development, and globalization,” he noted.

Pakistan Is China’s Closest Partner:

Prof. Gao stressed that no country is more important to China than Pakistan, describing the two nations as “iron-clad brothers.” He recalled how China stood with Pakistan during critical moments in history—including the wars of 1965, 1971, and recent military tensions with India—demonstrating unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty.

While addressing regional instability, Prof. Gao strongly dismissed the notion of an independent Balochistan. He emphasized that separatist and terrorist movements in Pakistan are destined to fail and that enemies seeking to destabilize the country will not succeed.

Call for Stronger Tech and Economic Ties:

Prof. Gao encouraged Pakistan to deepen its cooperation with China in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence (AI). He highlighted China’s open-door policy for AI development and urged Pakistan to accelerate efforts to benefit from this opportunity.

Economically, he advocated for greater financial integration between the two nations, including joint ventures in stock markets and the use of Islamic finance tools like Sukuk bonds to attract and support Chinese businesses in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Strategic Importance Recognized:

During the session, Prof. Gao also responded to a question by Pakistani journalist Sana Mirza, stating that Pakistan holds superiority in five-dimensional warfare over India, making future conflict unlikely.
