Polling scheduled for Jamshaid Dasti’s NA-175 seat on Sept 10

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for the upcoming by-election in the NA-175 Muzaffargarh-I constituency, set for polling on September 10.
This seat became vacant following the disqualification of Jamshaid Dasti over a fake degree. Dasti had previously won this constituency in last year’s general elections with the support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to the ECP timetable, the returning officer will issue a public notice on July 21. Candidates can submit their nomination papers to the RO between July 23 and 25. The list of nominated candidates will be published on July 26, and the scrutiny of nomination papers will conclude by August 1.
Candidates or interested parties can file appeals against the rejection or acceptance of nominations until August 5. The Appellate Tribunal will decide on these appeals by August 12. A revised list of candidates will be published the following day.
The last date to withdraw candidacies is August 15, and the revised list of candidates will be published on the same day. The election symbols would be allotted to contesting candidates next day.
