ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has surpassed its revenue collection...
FBR makes E-Invoicing mandatory for all Sales Tax registered businesses
Starting August 1, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will require every sales-tax-registered business to issue electronic invoices. This change is rolling out in phases to make Pakistan’s tax system more transparent and reliable.
Under the official notification (SRO 1413), all companies must link their billing software or hardware to the FBR’s central e-invoicing platform. You can do this through a licensed integrator or the Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd. (PRAL) portal. Once registered, you’ll need to run system tests by the deadlines below—and then start issuing e-invoices on time.
If you’re an individual or an association of persons with turnover over Rs 100 million, follow the Phase 2 schedule.
By fully integrating into this system, businesses will help ensure accurate record-keeping, smoother audits, and faster tax compliance. Don’t wait, mark your calendar and get connected to the FBR’s e-invoicing platform today.
