After early flood warnings, authorities in Sindh and Balochistan have stepped up safety measures, while the Pakistan Army carries out large-scale rescue and relief operations across the country.

Severe flooding in the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers has already claimed 30 lives, affecting more than 1.5 million people and submerging 2,308 villages in Punjab.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned of high to very high flood risk in these rivers until September 3.

Heavy rains are forecast in the upper catchment areas of the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers between September 2 and 3, raising further concerns.

Experts are monitoring the situation continuously, with emergency preparations in Sindh and similar measures underway in Balochistan.

Across the country, the Pakistan Army is leading rescue operations, evacuating people to safe locations.

Corps commanders in Lahore and Gujranwala are supervising relief work in Punjab’s flood-hit districts as troops provide on-ground assistance to affected communities.
