The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that the deadline for submitting applications for Hajj has been extended by one day.

According to a spokesperson for the ministry, applicants can now submit their forms at designated banks until Monday, August 18.

The ministry shared that interest in the government Hajj scheme has remained strong this year. In just the past 12 days, more than 110,000 applications have already been received, showing how eager people are to secure a place. Despite the high response, about 7,000 seats are still available under the government quota.

Officials explained that the extension is being offered purely to accommodate those who were unable to complete their applications before the original deadline.

However, the ministry has made it clear that the process will follow a strict “first come, first served” policy. This means that applications will no longer be accepted once the remaining seats are filled, even if it is before the extended deadline.

The decision aims to ensure that as many people as possible can participate in the pilgrimage without unnecessary hurdles. Designated banks across the country will continue to handle the application process during their working hours on Monday. The ministry also urged applicants to complete their submissions as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
