Heavy rain in Karachi leaves at least seven dead, several injured

Seven people were killed and ten others injured in Karachi as heavy rains triggered multiple accidents and electrocution incidents across the city.

According to rescue officials, these incidents occurred in different areas, causing severe difficulties for residents.

In Gulistan-e-Jauhar, near Rado Bakery, the collapse of a house wall killed two women and two children. Four others, including a young girl, were injured and were immediately shifted to the hospital by rescue teams.

In North Karachi, a 65-year-old man, Ishaq, died after suffering an electric shock inside his home. Rescue workers reached the scene promptly after the incident.

In Orangi Town’s Dabba Mor area, an eight-year-old boy, Abdullah, lost his life when a house wall collapsed, injuring several others who were taken to hospital.

At a petrol pump in Malir City, a fire broke out, killing one person and leaving three others with burn injuries. The blaze was brought under control, and rescue teams transported the injured to the hospital.

In another rain-related incident, the parking shed of the Sindh Secretariat collapsed, injuring a man named Faizan Ali, who was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Additionally, in Orangi Town, the roof of an under-construction building caved in, injuring two laborers identified as Sameer and Azeem. Both were rushed to the hospital immediately.
