ISLAMABAD – Indian media’s rush to blame Pakistan for the recent Pahalgam incident in Indian-occupied Kashmir has backfired, as India’s military headquarters has denied the credibility of those claims.

In a surprising development, the Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) of India released a statement clarifying that reports circulating on social media—linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam event—are not based on facts. The official post stated that no verified document or report has been issued by any authorized media wing or department of the Indian armed forces regarding the alleged individuals involved in the incident.

The statement further confirmed that neither the public relations offices of the Indian military nor any official spokespersons have released information related to the Pahalgam event. IDS itself has not issued any formal report on the matter.

Soon after, Indian media pointed fingers at Pakistan, and  Islamabad strongly rejected the allegations. Pakistan responded with solid evidence, effective fact-checking, and engaged international diplomatic channels to counter the false narrative.

According to sources, Pakistan also raised the issue on global platforms, including the United Nations, where it highlighted concerns about India’s history of false flag operations and propaganda tactics. The international response largely favored Pakistan’s fact-based diplomacy, weakening India’s position significantly.
