ISLAMABAD:  The Independence Day and “Marka-e-Haq” ceremony is underway at Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad, with President Asif Ali Zardari attending as the chief guest.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, the chiefs of all three armed forces, key national leaders, and foreign guests are also present.

The armed forces are holding an impressive parade and air show, while the prime minister will also unveil the “Marka-e-Haq” memorial.

The nation is celebrating both Independence Day and the historic victory against India, bringing double joy to citizens. Streets, towns, and cities across Pakistan are decorated with green and white flags.

Earlier, the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution on the occasion, paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country and reaffirming the nation’s commitment to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity.
