The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced new toll tax rates for the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M2). The revised charges will be effective from August 26, 2025, to August 25, 2026.

According to the new rates:

  • Cars, Jeeps, and Taxis (Class 1): Rs1,330 (Rs3.72 per km)
  • Wagons (Class 2): Rs2,240 (Rs6.24 per km)

  • Buses: Rs3,130 (Rs8.73 per km)

The NHA said this increase is part of the annual 10% hike agreed under the contract signed on April 23, 2014, with Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering (Private) Limited, a subsidiary of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

This contract follows the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, which requires toll rates to be revised every year starting from the second year of operation.
