PIA to restart UK flights from September 2025, Confirms Ishaq Dar
Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Friday that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will restart its flight operations to the United Kingdom from September 2025.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Dar said that direct flights from Pakistan to Manchester will begin in September, with three to four flights per week. He added that people are very excited about the return of PIA’s UK services.
PIA has already made strong progress in its preparations. A two-member team — Chief Operating Officer Khurram Mushtaq and General Manager Coordination Zulqarnain Mehdi — has arrived in Manchester to review arrangements for the airline’s first resumed flight.
The delegation will prepare a detailed report on the operational and logistical readiness for the service.
According to officials, PIA will initially run four weekly flights between Islamabad and Manchester. Later, the airline plans to expand operations to include London and Birmingham.
This development comes after the UK lifted restrictions on PIA flights, paving the way for the national flag carrier to reconnect directly with one of its most important international routes.
