PM Shahbaz Sharif arrives in China for SCO summit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Beijing for an official visit that will continue until September 4. During his stay, he will represent Pakistan at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) leaders’ summit.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as well as key regional and global issues.

Shehbaz Sharif will also attend a military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the global anti-fascist war, where other world leaders are expected to be present.

According to media reports, the Prime Minister will meet prominent Chinese business leaders and corporate executives to discuss trade, investment, and economic cooperation. He is also slated to address the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Conference during the visit.
